Research Assistant
Having studied physics at Vilnius University (Lithuania) for four years, I joined the Organic Electroactive Materials group in 2007 to do a PhD in cooperation with Eastman Kodak. I enjoyed working in the group and living in the North East so much that after my PhD decided to stay around for a little longer. Since 2010 I am working as a post-doc in the
group on triplet exciton dynamics, delayed fluorescence and their applications in organic light emitting diodes and organic solar cells. I am responsible for the nanosecond system setup and picosecond EKSPLA YAG laser which has been my main toy for the last 5 years. In my spare time I play basketball, football or any other sport and helped Ustinov College to become Durham University college basketball champion three times in the last four years. I also enjoy learning languages and at the moment I am trying to get to grips with French and Italian. Hopefully, the latter will be useful while kitesurfing in Sardinia next summer.
